I thought I would follow others’ leads and do a 2026 reading challenge for myself. My challenge is to read my way across the US with a book centered or somehow related to each state. I’m going to do my best to stay within an actual road trip format instead of jumping all around and will post a pic of my itinerary as it gets started. This is way more than I have been reading lately so I will be giving myself leeway with audio books and short stories if needed. And Hawaii will require a virtual flight instead of a drive. I’m still curating my list, and it might change while I go along, but normally read a lot of historical fiction set outside the US. I also like mystery/thriller, true crime, and “chick lit” (like Jane Green, Sophie Kinsella, Jennifer Weiner, etc) so I’m looking forward to reading other things as well. Any suggestions are very much welcome!! My German Shepherd Keisel is along for the ride and we are starting with The Nature Of Fragile Things by Susan Meissner for California.
